The White Olive Tree

During an interview in a dangerous East Country, Song Ran, a female reporter from Liang City Satellite TV, finds herself in a risky situation. She’s saved by Li Zan, a Chinese explosive engineer volunteering in the country. Li Zan’s kindness and innocent heart draw Song Ran in. As they spend more time together, Li Zan learns that while Song Ran seems fragile, she’s actually brave and strong, with a caring heart. Their shared values and strong connection lead to a budding romance. However, their relationship is interrupted by a bombing attack.
After returning to China, both go through tough times and lose contact. Li Zan struggles with guilt over his friend's death during the bombing, while Song Ran faces backlash for a photo she took at the scene. They eventually reunite, and their lives slowly improve. Together, they plant a white olive tree, symbolizing their renewed hope and connection.
